One thousand five hundred people living in the sector of Bruyères-sur-Oise (Val-d'Oise) had to leave their homes on Wednesday. They are indeed within the security perimeter set up by the prefecture of the department around the site where a bomb dating from the Second World War was discovered. The explosive device was discovered during work in the town, says France 3 Paris Ile-de-France.
The bomb disposal operation requires extensive precautionary measures within a radius of 270 metres from where the American explosive is located. A third of the inhabitants of Bruyères-sur-Oise are thus concerned. They were asked to evacuate their homes and close the shutters. Any movement during the intervention is prohibited. Premises have been made available to the population.
The prefecture of Val-d'Oise said that specialists would not detonate the machine on site. They will take care of it in order to transport it safely to another place, which has not been specified. This is where the bomb will be destroyed.
