While a fire had just broken out in a house divided into an apartment in Montereau-Fault-Yonne (Seine-et-Marne), an off-duty police officer did not wait for help to act. On Sunday, in the early afternoon, he entered the homes invaded by smoke to help the occupants of the ground floor trapped by the disaster.

A pregnant woman saved

The policeman managed to get out two children, a pregnant woman, a man and a dog, details The Republic of Seine-et-Marne. Then, about twenty firefighters arrived on site to extinguish the fire. Three families were rehoused.

According to the first elements of the police investigation, a scooter located under the porch would have caught fire. Then, the flames would have spread to the house. A track that will have to be confirmed by the investigators.
