A man was arrested Sunday and taken into custody for reopening his grocery store without authorization, under an administrative closure. It was the municipal police of Nîmes, on patrol near the store, who noticed that the metal curtain was half open, while the closure of a month pronounced by prefect of Gard, was still running.

Inside the store, several cartons of cigarettes – whose sale is prohibited in grocery stores – were seized. The man, who is not the manager of the business, was released Monday at the end of his custody. The investigation has been referred to the Departmental Directorate of Public Security.
