Two young men were arrested Thursday by the police while they were near the prison of Caen (Calvados). Aged 24 and 25, they are suspected of having piloted a drone that flew over the penitentiary, reports France Bleu Normandie. Their machine would not have dropped packages.

The two defendants were to be tried Monday by the criminal court of Caen, adds the weekly Liberty Le Bonhomme Libre. They were to be brought before the court under the procedure of immediate appearance.

As drone overflights of the Caen prison became more and more frequent, sometimes accompanied by dropping packages, the police set up surveillance.

This is not the first time drones have been spotted near the city's prison. Often, the devices are intended to deliver packages to detainees. "Overflights of drones of the prison of Caen becoming more and more frequent, sometimes accompanied by drops of packages, the police set up surveillance," explains the national police on Twitter.
