A man in his 30s who injured his girlfriend by brandishing a weapon at her because he was angry at receiving a breakup notice has been taken into custody and brought to trial.

Mr. A is accused of going to the home of his girlfriend B (in his 2s), who had said goodbye, at about 19:5 p.m. on February 30 and injuring Mr. B's knee with a weapon as he tried to escape after detaining her for about nine hours.

When Mr. A was bleeding heavily, he took Mr. B to the hospital and was arrested by the police at the scene.

Mr. A reportedly admitted his charges.

According to the prosecution's investigation, at the time of the crime, Mr. A assaulted and threatened Mr. B with a weapon in order to unlock his mobile phone.

Whenever Mr. B checked the messages he had communicated with other men, it was also revealed that he was violent, and the prosecution also charged him with special coercion.

The prosecutor's office referred Mr. B, who complained of extreme anxiety and distress, to the Crime Victim Support Center for medical expenses and psychological treatment support.

A prosecutor's office official said, "We will take strict action against crimes of gang violence that are likely to escalate into serious crimes."
