Launched by the department of Essonne in 2016, the device called "Tremplin Jeune Citoyenne" rewards those who volunteer with associations. Since its inception, more than 13,000 young people aged 18 to 25 have benefited from it. Faced with such success, it is now open to 12-25 year olds, reports Le Parisien.

In seven years, 3,000 departmental associations have benefited from 120,000 hours of volunteering provided by young people. In exchange, the Department helps them to finance a personal project (driving license, training, purchase, etc.) up to 50 euros for 12-15 year olds, 200 euros for 15-17 year olds (against 20 hours of commitment) and 400 euros for 18-25 year olds against 40 hours of volunteering.

"Young people don't have time to get tired (...) We are much more convinced by the citizen springboard than by civic service, "confides to our colleagues the president of a solidarity grocery store. According to him, this device also has the merit of creating "intergenerational diversity" with retired volunteers.
