Shakira is delighted with her hit Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 recorded with Argentine producer Bizarrap following her painful breakup from Gerard Piqué. There are several reasons for this, starting with the fact that "this song has become an anthem for all women".

"I had a very difficult year after my breakup, and writing this song was very important to me," she said on the set of Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show.

This title, which allowed Shakira to break 14 Guinness World Records, directly alludes to her breakup and its consequences, as well as the current girlfriend of the 36-year-old former sportsman, Clara Chia Marti, aged 23.

Saving song

The 46-year-old Colombian star explained that writing the track was, initially, "a healthy way to channel my emotions". The magnitude, in the end, was quite different.

"And after that song came out, I really felt like I didn't have any fans anymore. What I have is a community of women who have experienced the same things as me, who think like me, who feel the same things as me, who have had to deal with as much trouble as me, "added the singer of Hips Don't Lie. "I wrote this song for myself, but I also feel like it speaks in many ways for all the women who needed a platform and a voice to represent them."

Shakira added that it was Milan, the 10-year-old son she had with Gerard Piqué, who encouraged her to work with Bizarrap. "Mom, you have to work with Bizarrap. You have to do a song with him, because you're going to be No. 1," she told Jimmy Fallon.

Shakira and Gerard Piqué, who also have another son, 8-year-old Sasha, confirmed their breakup in June 2022. The retired footballer then made his relationship with his new girlfriend, Clara Chía Martí, official on Instagram.
