A woman in her 40s who was accused of wielding a weapon multiple times because she suspected her boyfriend of having an affair has been sentenced to prison.

According to the legal profession yesterday (12th), the sole criminal division 1 of the Northern District of Seoul (Judge Shin Sang-ryul) sentenced Mr. A (45), who was charged with special injury, special intimidation, special assault, and damage to special property, to one year in prison.

Miss A is accused of brandishing a weapon at her boyfriend, Miss B, and assaulting and threatening her between January and March last year.

As a result of the investigation, in January last year, Miss A suspected an affair with her boyfriend Miss B, with whom she had lived for one year and six months, and swung the hammer twice on the back of Miss B's shoulder and arm, and slammed her head with Miss B's mirror.

It turns out that Mr. A's crimes did not stop after that. In March of the same year, he threatened Mr. B by taking a weapon out of the kitchen and taking several pictures of the furniture in the master bedroom, saying, "You die and I die."

In addition, Mr. A allegedly cut the shorts Mr. B was wearing with scissors, saying, "Let's cut XX," and in the process, he swung a weapon, injuring Mr. B's left hand and both arms.

In the end, when Mr. A appeared in court, the court sentenced him to imprisonment and stated the reasons for sentencing, saying, "Mr. A has no criminal history and has reached an agreement with Mr. B," but "in view of the method, instrument, circumstances, and extent of the crime, the guilt is of poor quality and the guilt is quite heavy."
