In January, police concluded that the occupants were extremely selective in connection with an accident in which a vehicle crashed about 1 meters down from a female observation deck in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam, killing all occupants.

The Geoje Police Department announced on the 200th that it considered the incident to be a deliberate accident by the occupants of the vehicle and closed it as a "general accident."

All four of the deceased were not usually acquainted, and their ages and places of residence were all different, weighing the possibility of a deliberate accident from the time of the accident.

The police investigated possible hit-and-run accidents and possible accidents such as whether the brakes were tampered with, but it was reported that there were no tire pushes caused by sudden braking, which is common in traffic accidents, at the actual accident site.

In particular, analysis of the Vehicle Accident Record (EDR) and the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) revealed that the driver did not slow down but rather accelerated immediately before the accident.

Police also checked CCTV records showing them visiting the accident site the day before the accident.

According to CCTV footage, they crossed over to Geoje on the Geoga Bridge from Busan a day before the accident, stopped at the observation deck where the accident occurred, then went back to Busan and crossed over to Geoje, and crashed at the accident site in the early hours of the next morning.

Conversations on mobile phones before the accident also found hints of intentional accidents.

The autopsy also found no signs of taking drugs such as hallucinogens, so there were no specific findings.

A police official said, "We were unable to confirm how they got to know each other and met," adding, "There are no circumstances of the killing, and after combining the autopsy results of the deceased and mobile phone forensics, we found a number of circumstances that could be judged to be an extreme choice, and concluded that it was a deliberate accident."

Earlier, at around 4:1 a.m. on January 12, an SUV crashed into a cliff near the observation deck of Yeocha Hongpo Coastal Road in Geoje City, killing all four occupants.

It was confirmed that the residences of the deceased men were Geoje (3s), Cheonan, Chungnam (40s), Ansan (4s), and Gumi, North Gyeongsang (20s), and that the accident vehicle was rented by a man in his 40s from a rental car company for a long time.
