While most fashion capitals have reinterpreted some remnants of the 1990s and 2000s, Paris has praised the 1980s and women's men's looks. With exaggerated shoulders, pieces borrowed from the man's dressing room, (fake) furs, black and white and checkered patterns...

The favorite piece: The coat

Long coats and trench coats stood out. Perfectly fitted or oversized, often inspired by the man's wardrobe with visible collars, with or without sleeves, but often with broad shoulders, they were everywhere. Louis Vuitton, Issey Miyake, Dries Van Noten, Givenchy, Vaillant Studio, Loewe, Balmain, and Valentino are among the houses that have transformed trench coats and coats into full-fledged clothes or essential pieces of the season. A trend also spotted on the Milanese catwalks.

The material: The (fake) fur

Without neglecting the issue of animal welfare, fake fur has become more fanciful than ever. With stripes, animal prints, or flashy colors, to choose from. A trend observed on the catwalks of Nina Ricci, Vaillant Studio, and to a lesser extent Stella McCartney and Loewe.

The color duo: Black & White

Dresses, skirts, trousers, suits, and coats... Many pieces of the women's wardrobe have adopted the iconic duo through stripes, checks, and other prints, or more simply via details (pockets, buttons, collars) all in contrasts. The French house Chanel has particularly distinguished itself in this exercise, as has Valentino, Stella McCartney, Nina Ricci, or Schiaparelli.

Patterns: Tiles and stripes

The checkered and striped patterns were not on the margins. They were noticed at Chanel and Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. Also at Dior, which also offered some silhouettes adorned with stripes.

The accessory: The tie

A true star of the Valentino show, the tie has established itself in Paris as the essential accessory of the autumn-winter 2023 season... For the woman. It is also about hijacking a symbol of masculinity, and making women appropriate it for a silhouette that is both sexy and powerful. She was also found at Dior and Alexander McQueen.
