Melodifestivalen 2023 is coming to an end.

After last week's semi-final where Nordman, Theoz, Mariette and Kiana received the most votes, only the culmination of the mello season, the final, remains.

During a two-hour broadcast led by Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi, there are twelve entries competing to represent Sweden in the Eurovision song contest.

Favorite tipped to take everything home

From competition four, she sailed straight up to a final place and with the contribution "Tattoo" Loreen is not only tipped to win Melodifestivalen, but also Eurovision in May.

- It's hard to take in, the best thing I know is when people respond to what I create, says Loreen to Kulturnyheterna.

The pressure from being tipped as favourites, she believes, affects her, but creativity is always in focus, she says.

- I'm good at blocking that part.

But the final outcome is still written in the stars.

On the odds lists, Ukrainian Maria Sur and her "Never give up" who took her directly to the final from heat two and Marcus and Martinus who compete with "Air" follow.

The starting field also includes Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Panetoz, Mariette, Theoz and Kiana, and the one who ends the whole party is Paul Rey with the contribution "Royals".

Could be the seventh win - touching record

Sweden has previously won the Eurovision song contest six times, including once with Loreen in 2012. The only country that has won first prize more times is Ireland, which has been voted to victory seven times.

If the competition follows the predictions of the betting sites and Sweden wins, it would, in other words, touch a record.

Due to the war in the country, Eurovision 2023 will not be held in Ukraine, even though the group Kalush orchestra won the competition for the country last year.

Instead, the singing competition will be held this year in Liverpool in England and will be decided on May 13.

The Melodifestivalen can be seen live on SVT1 at 20:00 and can also be seen on SVT Play.
