On a highway in Hwaseong City, a 1-ton truck drives toward the median.

The car behind honks its horn, but the truck continues to scrape the median.

Kim Ji-wan, the driver of the passenger car who felt strange, urgently called 119 and said,

[Hello? Oh, wait a minute.]

He struggles to stop his car as it hits the truck until rescue arrives.

Eventually, they outrun the truck, block the road, and only then succeed in stopping it.

[Please come here, quickly.]

When I got out of the car and checked on him, I found the truck driver unconscious.

[Kim Ji-wan/Rescuer: When I saw him through the windshield, he wasn't in the driver's seat at all, he was lying down.]

The road where the accident occurred can travel at speeds of up to 90 km/h, but it was dark and the truck was slowing down without its hazard lights, making it dangerous.

The truck was confirmed to have struck the median for about a kilometre and the driver, a man in his 1s, told police he had briefly lost consciousness from overwork as he returned home from work.

[Kim Ji-wan/Rescuer: If you step on the accelerator a little more at any time, you can make a sudden start. I also thought that I should keep the golden time. Actually, since the field I work in is also related to car safety, it was a little more meaningful....]

Kim's courageous act of throwing his car and body saved the truck driver and prevented a secondary accident.
