A gang of co-workers who gaslit a woman in her 30s for a long period of time, forced her into prostitution for three years, and extorted money for prostitution has been arrested and brought to trial.

On the 3th, the Daegu District Prosecutor's Crimes Against Women and Children Investigation Department (Chief Prosecutor Jang Il-hee) announced that it had detained and charged Ms. A (41, female), Ms. A's husband Ms. B (41), and Ms. C (37), the husband of the victim woman, on charges such as violating the Law on the Punishment of Acts such as Soliciting Prostitution (coercion of prostitution, etc.).

In addition, one man in his 8s who was a junior at Mr. B's workplace and assisted them in committing the crime was charged with non-custody.

Ms. A and others are accused of forcing the victim, Ms. D, to prostitute her 30,1 times between October 2019 and September last year, and stealing about 10 million won in prostitution payments.

Their bizarre atrocities, which lasted for about three years, were further revealed by a police investigation.

When Ms. D, a victim who was forced into prostitution and violence, went undercover, she went into hiding, locked her in a vehicle, cut her hair, and even collected the location information of Ms. D's helper, sent threatening texts, made phone calls, and approached her residence and family more than 9 times.

They forced Mr. D to eat 2~500 servings of food at a time and assaulted him if he vomited or fell short of his weight.

In order to spy on Miss D, Mr. and Mrs. A forced her to marry Miss C and forced her to record a video of her having sex with Miss C, saying that she should make money by selling the video.

He was also accused of assaulting Mr. D on several occasions, including beating him to death in September last year, causing injury.

As a result of the police investigation, it was found that Mr. A committed the crime after a long period of gaslighting by taking advantage of the fact that Mr. D, a former co-worker, usually trusted and followed him.

It turned out that Mr. A and others used the proceeds of crime to buy high-end foreign cars or pay off debts.

A prosecutor's office official said, "In order to recover the proceeds of crime, we have taken additional measures against the defendants' apartments and two foreign-made vehicles, and we have requested psychological treatment and subsistence allowances to support the recovery of the victims."
