The Tokyo District Court held the first trial of two former executives of advertising giant ADK Holdings, who were accused of bribing a former director of the organizing committee of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in a corruption case surrounding the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. The two pleaded guilty to the charges.

Defendant Shigeharu Hisamatsu (63), the former general manager of ADK Holdings' business division, and defendant Toshiaki Tada (61), former assistant general manager of the business division, along with former president Shinichi Ueno (69), have facilitated the contracting of sponsors for the Tokyo Games. He has been charged with bribery by giving a bribe of approximately 14 million yen to the defendant Haruyuki Takahashi (78), a former director of the organizing committee, for the purpose of getting him to plan.

At the first trial held at the Tokyo District Court, the two said, "There is no doubt," and admitted what was indicted.

In the opening statement, the prosecution asserted that ``Defendant Tada, who was in charge of the department in charge of the Tokyo Games, knew that former director Takahashi was familiar with sports marketing, and asked him to help with sponsorship sales for the Games.'' .

He also said, "Defendant Hisamatsu was pointed out by his corporate lawyer that ADK's contract to pay a monthly consulting fee to former director Takahashi's company could constitute a bribery charge."

Former president Ueno has already started the trial and has admitted to the indictment.
