Transport and school at risk of chaos today 8 March, for the general strike of all public and private categories. Bus, tram and metro lines may be subject to slowdowns, delays, cancellations of trips and even closure of some services. The 24-hour stop was called by the trade unions Cub, Cobas, Si Cobas, Slai Cobas, Sgb, Usb and Us. The motivation, in connection with International Women's Day, concerns "the worsening of the general living conditions of women starting from the working condition in our country, which affects all other areas: social, family, cultural".

To cross their arms, for the whole day, will be "all workers in all public sectors, private in support of the struggle of workers / women with permanent contracts, fixed-term, with precarious and atypical contracts". Strike times and modalities will vary depending on the city.

In Rome, the agitation will affect the Atac network, the peripheral buses managed by Roma Tpl and Cotral. Therefore, in compliance with the guarantee bands provided for by law, transport will be insured from the beginning of the service at 8.30 and then from 17 to 20. Possible stops or interruptions of runs for buses (including peripheral), trams, subways and for the Termini-Centocelle railway may instead occur from 8:30 to 17 and from 20 to the end of service. The Metromare and Roma Nord railways, operated by the regional company Cotral, will travel regularly. On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, the service of the "n" bus lines will be guaranteed, while the daytime lines that have scheduled runs after midnight and the night runs of the Atac lines 38, 44, 61, 86, 170, 246, 301, 451, 664, 881, 916, 980 and the Roma Tpl lines 314, 404, 444 will not be insured.

In Milan (and Lombardy) The circulation of regional trains, suburban trains and airport connections, including underground lines, Malpensa Express may be subject to limitations and cancellations (Trenord and ATM). In the schedules 6-9 and 18-21 will run the trains indicated in the list of guaranteed races. In particular, on the evening of Tuesday 7 trains will travel with departure scheduled before 21 pm and arrival at the final destination by 22 pm. Wednesday 8 March in the morning will travel trains that have departure time from the station of origin after 6 am and arrival at final destination by 9 am; in the afternoon trains will circulate with departure scheduled after 18.As for the airport connection, replacement buses will be provided, without intermediate stops, for any trips not made between Milan Cadorna and Malpensa Airport – from Milan the buses will depart from Via Paleocapa, 1 – and between Stabio and Malpensa Airport. The Trenitalia Frecce and Intercity will circulate regularly on the occasion of the strike of the staff of the Fs Italiane Group proclaimed by some autonomous trade unions, in adherence to a general strike, from 21 pm on Tuesday 7 to 21 pm on Wednesday 8 March. Trenitalia undertakes to ensure almost all connections, with possible slight changes to the regional train schedule. Guaranteed essential services provided in case of strike on weekdays from 6 to 9 and from 18 to 21.
