  According to Shen Wenxi, a staff member of the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology of Anyang City, Henan Province, on the forum that day, the distribution area of ​​the Balizhuang site in Anyang is irregular oval, with a maximum width of 230 meters from east to west and a length of 150 meters from north to south. The existing area is about 27,000 square meters .

On the southwest side of the site distribution area, an ancient river channel was drilled, roughly flowing from northwest to southeast, with a width of about 100 meters.

In the ruins area, the stratum accumulation is clear, the cultural relics are abundant, and the state of preservation is good.

  "In 2022, a total of 15 exploration squares will be deployed in the eastern half of the site area, of which 13 have been excavated to the Peiligang cultural layer."   According to drilling, three ash pits from the Peiligang culture period were excavated at the site.

No traces of Paleolithic human activities have been found in the Dongtanggou strata.

The deepest part of the ancient river channel at the southern end of Xitanggou has been dug down to 3.2 meters, and sand layers can be seen; 3 ash pits were excavated at the southern end, and 10 ash pits were excavated at the northern end.

It is preliminarily speculated that the ancestors of the Balizhuang site lived by the river.

  According to reports, the types of pottery unearthed from the Balizhuang site in Anyang include clay terracotta pots with small mouth and two ears, flat-bottomed pots, three-legged bowls, sand-filled pots with wide mouths and deep bellies, and straight-mouthed pots (yu).

There are many patterns on the surface of sand-filled pottery, such as grate dot pattern, jomon pattern, nail pattern, zigzag pattern, etc.

In addition, many red-burned earth wall fragments were unearthed, as well as stone tools such as stone shovels, stone axes, stone grinding rods, and stone grinding discs.
