With just over two years until the opening of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, the issuance of license plates for moped motorcycles with the official character "Myakumyaku" has begun.

Osaka City began issuing license plates for moped motorcycles with the Expo's official character "Myakumyaku" drawn on them from the 8th, mainly for people who park in Osaka city.

The issuance started at five city tax offices in the city, and among them, at the "Abeno City Tax Office" in Abeno Ward, Osaka, people were seen visiting for procedures from the morning.

A 36-year-old man from Osaka City said, "I like myakumyaku, so I was looking forward to today. I want to wear this plate and run in various places."

Hiroshi Yoshida, taxation section manager of the tax department of the Osaka City Finance Bureau, said, "This is the first license plate with 'Myakumyaku' drawn on it, so I would like citizens and businesses to attach it to the Expo," he said.

Osaka City has prepared four types of license plates according to engine displacement, and in addition to acquiring new ones, it is also possible to replace the existing plates.

The city plans to continue accepting orders until the end of the Expo in October of the year after next, while monitoring inventory levels.
