Odakyu Electric Railway, a major private railway company, and Isehara City in Kanagawa Prefecture signed a partnership agreement on the 8th, including considering the construction of a new station in the city.

Construction of a new Odakyu station has been underway since 2004, and it is said that it will promote community development in cooperation with the city.

Mayor Matsutaro Takayama and Odakyu Electric Railway President Koji Hoshino attended the signing ceremony of the partnership agreement held at Isehara City Hall.

First, Mayor Takayama said, "I want to create a core of industry and promote coexistence between places where we work and live." President Hoshino said, "We want to work together to improve the value of Isehara City."

After signing the agreement, we shook hands.

The agreement states that the construction of a new station between Isehara Station and Tsurumaki Onsen Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line will be considered, and that prior to this, a "general depot" will be established in Sagamihara City to inspect and repair rolling stock. It is included to relocate near the planned site of the station.

In addition, the city plans to develop roads and urban planning in line with the plans for stations and general depots, and the two sides aim to cooperate to increase the population and develop industry in the surrounding area.

If a new station is built on Odakyu, it will be the first station since Haruhino Station in Kawasaki City, which opened in 2004, and a new general depot will be opened in 2033, and the construction of a new station after that will be considered. That's it.
