An executive of a construction company in Kagoshima Prefecture, along with a representative of a trading company in Dubai, who is believed to be a mentor, was sued by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion of violating the Income Tax Act, alleging that he hid income obtained from trading crypto assets and evaded tax on more than 300 million yen. Arrested by the Special Investigation Unit.

Junichi Tahara (74), an executive of a construction company in Aira City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and Shinichi Tawada (72), a representative of a trading company in Dubai in the Middle East, "KPT General Trading", were arrested. There are four people in total.

According to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office's Special Investigation Department, Tahara and others are suspected of violating the Income Tax Act by concealing income earned from trading crypto assets and evading tax of more than 300 million yen.

On the 8th, the Special Investigation Department and the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau are jointly searching for related parties such as Tahara's company.

According to people involved, Tawada is suspected of guiding Tahara's tax evasion by disguising most of the profits from the sale of crypto assets as loans from a trading company in Dubai.

Representative Tawada was indicted three times last year for being involved in tax evasion by company executives in Saitama and Gunma prefectures, and this is the fourth time he has been arrested.

The Special Investigation Department is expected to analyze the materials seized in the search on the 8th and clarify the details of the circumstances.

The prosecutor's office has not released the identity of the four arrested.
