Dubai Fashion Week. All eyes are on the capital of elegance

The inaugural edition of Dubai Fashion Week, organised by TECOM Group's Dubai Design District and the Arab Fashion Council, kicks off tomorrow at Dubai Design District and several locations, offering new spaces dedicated to fashion shows and events featuring a wide range of international brands and regional talent across Dubai, cementing the emirate's position as a global hub for major international and regional companies and top talent in the fields of design, fashion and creativity.
Dubai Fashion Week will run until March 15, with the participation of a wide range of international entities and designers, and after Paris Fashion Week will allow you to see the Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collections.
Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of TECOM Group – Dubai Design District, said: "All eyes are on Dubai Fashion Week, which stems from Arab Fashion Week, as the first edition of the event is a historic step in the region's fashion sector.
She added: "The event celebrates Dubai's growing role as one of the world's five major fashion capitals, attracting leading international brands and experts from around the world to Dubai Design District, a regional creative destination with an ambitious and innovative vision that aims to enhance the role and impact of talented creators and designers by highlighting their work and taking it to global levels."
Jacob Abrian, CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, said: "We look forward to the launch of the first edition of Dubai Fashion Week, which will contribute to establishing Dubai as one of the world's leading fashion capitals. We are delighted that the Arab Fashion Council is collaborating with Dubai Design District and some of Dubai's leading fashion stakeholders and designers, in a first-of-its-kind step to unite all fashion-related events at the local level and organize them under the umbrella of Dubai Fashion Week."
Dubai Fashion Week will feature a number of new initiatives as part of the programme's programme of events to celebrate the first edition of the event and support its vision to establish Dubai as a global fashion capital, alongside Paris, Milan, London and New York. Initiatives include the announcement of the establishment of a Dubai Fashion Week Steering Committee, a dedicated committee for buyers and a permanent designer committee, working together under the supervision of the Arab Fashion Council to ensure that Dubai Fashion Week's vision and ambitious goals are achieved and that a dynamic and sustainable future is charted for this new global event.
Dubai Fashion Week provides designers across the region with a prominent platform to set up business with international buyers and distributors, and supports global talent and brands to expand their reach around the world through regional markets.
The event will continue for six days, amid a packed program of activities, on the first day (tomorrow) men's fashion for Fall/Winter 2023-2024, and from Sunday to Tuesday for Fall/Winter 2023-2024, and next Wednesday will protect the women's haute couture collections for Spring-Summer 2023.
The event will feature 45 shows and events featuring brands and designers from the Arab world and beyond, as well as a series of panel discussions with regional and international buyers to discuss the most prominent trends in the market, including leading brands in the fashion sector.
