  The China Seismic Network officially determined that at 5:15 on March 8, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred in Dongyuan County, Heyuan City (23.84 degrees north latitude, 114.52 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.

The epicenter was located near Xinhuilong Town, Dongyuan County, 12 kilometers from Xichang Town, Dongyuan County, 21 kilometers from Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, and 151 kilometers from Guangzhou City.

  According to the Guangdong Seismological Bureau, the earthquake was felt strongly in Heyuan City, and in the Pearl River Delta.

No reports of casualties or property damage have been received at the epicenter, and the local people are in a stable mood.

  According to the news from the railway department, due to the impact of the Heyuan earthquake, some trains passing through the Jiangxi-Shenzhen High-speed Railway between Heyuan North and Boluo North Stations were suspended, and some trains between Tuocheng and Huizhou Stations on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway were running at speed limits.
