After Will Smith's slap in the face at the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock has taken late revenge. During a live appearance for the Netflix special "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage" over the weekend, the comedian admitted that Smith's "slap" hit him deeply. "People are now asking if it hurt. It still hurts!" In his opinion, anyone who claims that words hurt has never received a slap in the face. The anger against him surprised him, especially since he had nothing to do with the actor's private problems.
"His wife went into the box with her son's boyfriend. Each of us has been deceived. But none of us have ever been interviewed on camera by the person who cheated on him," Rock alluded to an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith's talk show "Red Table," in which she discussed her affair with her husband Smith. Many colleagues would have called Smith a wimp at the time.
The actor ("King Richard") stormed onto the stage at Rock's presentation of the Oscars at the end of March 2022 to slap Rock. The comedian had previously joked about Pinkett Smith's bald head. That the actress and presenter suffers from pathological hair loss, Rock said later, he did not know. He waived a criminal complaint against Smith. However, the film academy excluded the actor from its events for ten years.
