Sharjah showcases 70 Emirati publications translated into Hindi

During its participation in the 31st edition of the New Delhi International Book Fair, Sharjah Book Authority showcased more than 70 publications by Emirati writers whose creative works were translated into Hindi, providing light on the emirate's efforts to support the publishing industry and attract publishers and those interested in creative industries from the region and the world.

On the first day of the exhibition, which was inaugurated in the Indian capital New Delhi, by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, the Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, who headed the Authority's delegation to the exhibition, presented a set of publications of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, translated into Hindi, to Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Minister of Education, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan, and received on their behalf by Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.

Al Ameri said: "Sharjah's participation in the New Delhi International Book Fair represents an extension of the series of external participations through which we aim to highlight the civilizational achievements made by the emirate, which made it a gateway to Arab culture, in light of the cultural and civilizational project of Sharjah, which was drawn and led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah."

He added: "We seek to keep Sharjah always present in such forums through which we consolidate the emirate's influential role in the development of the global publishing industry, in addition to contributing to the evoking and representation of Arab culture in India, and developing translation projects into Hindi, to build bridges of knowledge communication and enhance cooperation between Arab and Indian cultures, in order to achieve Sharjah's vision as a vital cultural center in the region."
