A man buying soju and sweets at a
grocery store.

He starts drinking in the grocery store, and then sits down to talk.

About 30 minutes later, he suddenly throws the shochu and sweets he was eating at the shopkeeper, holding the bottle upside down and threatening him.

The man was in his 60s, who works at a nearby construction site, and when the owner of the lesser grocery store told him to leave, he became angry and

committed the crime.

The assault continued outside the grocery store.

[Mart owner: He just grabbed my hair and just said that he wouldn't let me go down, and he just grabbed me and crushed me like this.]

Mr. A chased the fleeing shopkeeper with a sharp-tipped iron pipe.

[Mart owner: Dragging on the ground... How terrifying. That sounds.]

The store owner ran to the nearby car center and called for help, and managed to get out of the crisis.

[Jang Jae-young/Car Center President: My aunt ran up and knocked on the door very hard. She asked me to save her. When five of the employees went out, she put down (the iron pipe) like this as if surrendering and slowly stepped back.]

Mr. A fled about 5 meters from the car center staff and was eventually caught.

The case ended only when the car center employees who stood in front of the mart until the police arrived handed over Mr. A.

The number of violent crimes that occur in grocery stores and convenience stores where employees work alone exceeds 300,8 every year.

There is nothing you can do other than buy self-defense items or install an emergency report button.

[Mart owner: It's so scary, and I'm glad I'm alive and well, but if I didn't die, I might be hurt.]
