Friday night, a woman was killed by a stab wound by her ex-spouse in the parking lot of a hotel in Amiens, in the Somme, we learned Saturday from police source. The victim had recently filed a complaint against the suspect for domestic violence.

The police, called around 20:50 p.m., discovered the ex-spouse alongside his victim, a 27-year-old woman to whom he stabbed him in the temple. He then turned his gun on himself, seriously injuring his chest. The 40-year-old man was hospitalized with a life-threatening prognosis.

Violence, separation and complaint

The couple had been separated since last August following a complaint for domestic violence, said the police source. The man was forbidden to contact his former spouse, but continued to harass her, according to the same source. An investigation was opened, entrusted to the departmental security of the Somme.
