At least ten thousand people, according to estimates by the Police Headquarters, took part in the procession convened in Florence following the beating a few days ago at the Liceo Michelangiolo. There was also the principal of the Leonardo Da Vinci high school, Annalisa Savino, author of the letter in which she recalled that "fascism was born from indifference": she paraded behind the banner of her high school and like other colleagues of her school carried a sign saying "I am not indifferent".

Singing "Bella ciao" and chanting "We are all anti-fascists", the demonstration started shortly after at 14 pm from Piazza Santissima Annunziata and about an hour and a half later the head of the procession entered Piazza Santa Croce, where speeches are being held from the stage.

Several well-known faces: the president of Tuscany Eugenio Giani, the mayor Nardella, the secretary of the CGIL Maurizio Landini, the new secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, the president of the 5 Star Movement Giuseppe Conte, the secretary of Article 1 Roberto Speranza, Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, Teresa Bellanova of Italia Viva.
