A 64-year-old pensioner was sentenced to two years in prison for possession and dissemination of child pornography images after an investigation by the Orleans Research Section, announced Friday the general direction of the National Gendarmerie. The cybergendarmes were able to identify the man, thanks to an investigation under a pseudonym started on January 13 on a discussion forum, said the gendarmerie in a statement.

Posing as a man in his sixties, the investigators contacted the pensioner, who told them of his attraction to the girls, before transmitting them a child pornography image. While in custody, the man acknowledged his attraction to very young children. Its computer equipment contained more than 11,000 child pornography images, "depicting children aged 4 to 10 years".

Presented before the Criminal Court of Chartres in immediate appearance, the man was sentenced to two years in prison with a warrant of committal, accompanied by an obligation of care as well as a ban on exercising an activity related to minors. He is also registered in the Sexual or Violent Offences Index (Fijais).
