Cherry Seaborn, the wife of British singer Ed Sheeran, was discovered last year with a tumor. Since the growth was found during the second pregnancy of the 30-year-old, treatment was only possible after birth.

"I was in a downward spiral of anxiety, depression and anxiety," Sheeran wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. In addition to worrying about his wife, he was also burdened by the death of his best friend Jamal Edwards.

The entrepreneur died suddenly in February 2022 at the age of 31. Writing songs about these difficult phases of his life had a therapeutic effect for Sheeran. His album "Subtract", which will be released at the beginning of May, has therefore become darker than planned.

In his post, the singer also recalled a plagiarism lawsuit for his title "Shape of You", against which he had to defend himself in court at the time. "I felt like I was drowning," the 32-year-old said.

Sheeran and Seaborn, who met during high school, have been married since 2019. In the summer of 2020, their first daughter, Lyra Antarctica, was born. Last May, the couple's second daughter was born. How Seaborn feels after the tumor diagnosis, Sheeran left open.
