Migrant shipwreck: two other alleged smugglers arrested

Two other people would have been stopped, according to rumors collected in judicial circles, on charges of having been the smugglers of the boat that yesterday morning crashed against a shoal off the coast of Cutro, in Crotonese, with the consequent fall into the sea of the migrants who were on board. The confirmed victims of the shipwreck, at the moment, are 59, including many children, and dozens are missing. Eighty people were saved. The two people who would be in custody are added to that of Turkish nationality already blocked, with the same charge, yesterday.

I ordered the Foreign Ministry to ascertain the facts as soon as possible and give confidence to the nation": so the Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commenting on the presence of numerous Pakistanis among the victims of the shipwreck of Cutro (Crotone).

Migrant shipwreck: the search went on all night

The search at sea for the missing people of the shipwreck of the migrant boat that took place yesterday in Steccato di Cutro, which caused, at the moment, 59 victims, continued throughout the night. The searches are conducted by the Port Authority of Crotone with the help of units of the aeronaval department of the Guardia di Finanza and the fire brigade. From 6 am the divers of the Coast Guard came into action and recently the helicopter of the Port Authority also came into action.
