Takanori Nishikawa, a musician from Shiga Prefecture, donated a portion of the proceeds from a music event he held on the shores of Lake Biwa for the first time in three years last year to help preserve the environment of Lake Biwa.

Musician Takanori Nishikawa, who is from Shiga Prefecture and serves as the prefecture's tourism ambassador, holds a large-scale music event called "Inazuma Rock Festival" every September on the shores of Lake Biwa.

The event has been held online or canceled due to the influence of the new corona, but last year it was held with spectators for the first time in three years, and more than 60,000 people participated.

On the 27th, Mr. Nishikawa visited the prefectural office and handed over 4.7 million yen in inventory to Governor Mikazuki, asking him to help preserve the environment of Lake Biwa.

Governor Mikazuki thanked Mr. Nishikawa, saying, "I will use it with care."

The music event was held for the 14th time last year, and the total amount donated by Mr. Nishikawa so far is about 35 million yen.

Mr. Nishikawa said, ``I expect that it will be used to find out how to protect Lake Biwa, a valuable resource, and in what form it can be passed on to future generations.''
