The earthquake was recorded 279 km southeast of Alma-Ata.
The source lay at a depth of 15 km.
“A magnitude 2 tremor was felt in a Kazakh city,” the report says.
Earlier, the death toll from earthquakes in Turkey reached 44,374.
Also a day earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred in the Sea of Okhotsk near the Kuril Islands.
