At the Yuda Dam in Nishiwaga Town, Iwate Prefecture, an event is being held where you can experience the strong winds called "chikyofu" that blow during this cold season.

The isthmus wind is a phenomenon in which the speed of the west wind from the Sea of Japan increases as it passes through the narrow valleys of the Ou Mountains. It is known to blow around the Yuda Dam in Nishiwaga Town.
