After admitting that Will Smith's slap on Chris Rock last year was very badly handled, the Oscars organization set up a crisis cell. This new entity will now take care of any potential overflow during future ceremonies.

"We have a whole crisis team, something we didn't have before, and a lot of plans to put in place. We evaluated several scenarios. So we hope to be better prepared to deal with everything that we can't anticipate right now, but that we've planned for in case it happens," said Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as relayed by Variety.

Hold on tight

In any case, the Oscars still seem completely destabilized by the violent outburst of their Best Actor of 2022. By the big boss's own admission, "a slap" from one actor to another in the middle of the ceremony is something that was not even imaginable. "It opened our eyes to all the things that can happen at the Oscars," he continues, while promising that this new entity will be able to handle any situation.

Starting with the good communication to send to the public and the media, since this cell will be the sole "spokesperson" in case of slippage of a guest. However, like a plea sent to the guests who will crowd around the tables on March 12, Bill Kramer "hopes that nothing will happen".

In short: dear rich and famous, be wise!
