Nipsey Hussle's killer knows his sentence. Convicted of first-degree murder and attempted murder, Eric Holder Jr. was sentenced Wednesday to at least sixty years in prison by Judge H. Clay Jacke.

While he had no emotion at the sentencing, his lawyer, Aaron Jansen, told ABC News that he planned to appeal the verdict, justifying that he knew "this case was going to be difficult because of its media coverage."

Posthumously awarded

Last July, after a months-long trial, the accused was convicted of first-degree murder for the murder of the musician, as well as the two counts of attempted intentional homicide. Two bystanders were injured in the shooting.

The Victory Lap singer was shot dead outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. Nipsey Hussle was hit a dozen times by gunfire from the gunman, who also kicked him in the head before fleeing, said Assistant District Attorney John McKinney.

The rapper has posthumously won two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Song Collaboration in 2020. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year.
