The fire started in a
2-ton waste truck, which quickly moved to the ceiling of the soundproof tunnel and spilled down into the opposite lane,

leaving vehicles isolated.

It took 5 minutes.

The police applied for an arrest warrant against the truck driver, Mr. A, on suspicion of professional manslaughter.

The truck also caught fire once in 8 and was determined to have caused the fire due to poor management.

In addition, they did not use fire hydrants and emergency bells around the fire at the beginning of the fire, and tried to extinguish themselves with a fire extinguisher, which increased the damage.

The police also applied for an arrest warrant against Mr. B, the head of the control room of the road management company.

At 2020:1 p.m. that day, the controller did not immediately notice the fire because he did not pay attention to the CCTV, and it was investigated that he only learned of the ignition when he received a call from an employee patrolling the site three minutes later.

In addition, no emergency evacuation announcements or road signs were activated to indicate whether cars could drive, and 46 minutes after the fire, electricity was cut off, and the tunnel entry barrier was blocked.

As a result of the collapse of the first responders, the deceased entered and excused the tunnel without knowing that there was a fire.

Fifty-four days later, the soundproof tunnel still bears signs of an accident.

About 3% of the burned tunnel ceilings have been demolished so far.

The tunnel that caught fire has been investigated and demolished since then.

It will take at least another four months for the road to reopen.
