Could this be a new twist in the case of little Maddie? A 21-year-old German woman recently claimed on Instagram that she may be Madeleine McCann, the British girl who disappeared on May 3, 2007 in Praia da Luz, Portugal. The young woman says she "needs a DNA test" to make sure, reports TF1 Info.

"Help me, I need to talk to Kate and Gerry McCann. I think I could be Madeleine," wrote the Instagrammer in the bio of her Instagram page called "iammadeleinemccan". The young woman, who highlights physical similarities such as moles, a dimple and a spot in the right eye, says she was a victim in her childhood of a pedophile strangely resembling one of the suspects listed on the findmadeleine.com website.

Maddie's parents accept the test

As a reminder, the Maddie case is one of the most publicized cases of disappearance in the world. At the end of 2022, the German prosecutor's office reported the identification of a 45-year-old suspect targeted by an arrest warrant for five cases of alleged rape and pedophilia.

"Even though I'm not the real Madeleine, I hope the police will check. I can't be 100% sure without a DNA test," she explained in a recent Instagram live. Already followed by nearly 600,000 people, the account recently reported a new mention: "Thank you for your support! Kate and Gerry McCann agreed to a DNA test. The future will tell us if this young German girl is indeed little Maddie, who disappeared almost 16 years ago.
