Yesterday, Eglantine Eméyé announced the death of her son Samy, born with multiple disabilities and severe autism, at only 17 years old. "Tonight, at midnight, my little angel, my toothbrush thief, my little lion with such a gentle look, flew to the stars, after 13 days of struggle," she wrote on her Instagram account. A heartbreaking statement, which raised a wave of support.
"My sweet Eglantine, you have been and will remain an exemplary mother. Samy has, thanks to you, lived tender and magical moments despite a pain that we can not realize. Your angel has flown away, we will love him for eternity as we admire you and as we love you for everything you do," Nagui wrote.
Gilles Lellouche sent him "all (his) thoughts, (s)on affection and (s)on admiration". "May your little angel rest in peace," he added, while Estelle Denis "thinks very strongly" of Eglantine Eméyé.
An eternal love
Laurence Boccolini sent him "a lot of strength and courage" as well as "stardust on this painful wound". "That love never goes away," the presenter added.
Vincent Cerutti, Sandrine Quétier, Joy Esther, Cristiana Reali and Julie Taton also left words of tenderness and support on the actress' Instagram account.
After the birth of her son, Eglantine Eméyé set up an association, Un Pas Vers La Vie, to help parents who, like her, find themselves alone facing their child's disability. The host has also written several books, including Le Voleur de brosses à tooths (ed. Robert Laffont) published in 2015 which tells the story of Samy.
