A young man in his twenties died suddenly in the night from Thursday to Friday in the town of Saint-Georges-sur-Loire (Maine-et-Loire). He was hit and hit by a TGV in front of his friends, reports Ouest France.

The train was travelling in the Paris-Nantes direction when the accident occurred around midnight. "The medical examinations confirmed the thesis of a death by polytrauma," confirmed the prosecutor of the Republic of Angers.

The accident theory favoured at this stage

According to the first elements collected by the prosecutor's office, five friends had spent the evening together, "without excess", watching a football match at the home of one of them. For a reason still unknown, they would then have gone near the SNCF tracks.

The investigation continues but "the track of the accident is privileged," said the prosecutor quoted by RTL. The four friends of the victim, shocked after witnessing the terrible scene, were taken care of by the rescuers.
