An inanimate body was recovered Monday not far from the coast of the island of Ouessant, in North Finistère. According to Ouest-France, it was a walker walking along Lampaul Bay, south of the island, who saw the body floating.

Alerted, the SNSM of Ouessant went to the site to recover the body. Initial findings indicate that it was in an advanced state of decomposition and could not be identified. We only know that it is a man.

Transported to the mainland, the body has been handed over to a forensic institute that will try to identify it. An investigation was opened by the gendarmes.
