Four individuals were arrested in flagrante this Saturday in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge (Essonne). They were charging batteries of electric scooters, stolen from a nearby warehouse, in a truck, reports Actu Essonne.
It was a witness who alerted the police when he saw several men busy around the warehouse, apartment at the Lime scooter rental company. Victim of several thefts, the company has already filed a complaint at the end of 2022 and in January.
Romanian sentenced for concealment
Mobilized, the police were able to arrest the four individuals, all Romanians, in flagrante delicto. In total, more than 200 electric batteries stored in two vehicles were found. After police custody, three of the four suspects were released.
The last, suspected of organizing the resale of these batteries in Romania, was tried on Monday in immediate appearance before the judicial court of Evry-Courcouronnes. He was given a six-month suspended sentence for receiving stolen goods. The investigation continues in hopes of identifying a potentially larger network.
