From now on, M. Night Shyamalan's films will be under the aegis of Warner Bros. The director of Knock At The Cabin has just announced that he has made an agreement with the studios for several years. With his production company Blinding Edge Pictures, the filmmaker will develop many original projects.

A joy for Warner, which split a dithyrambic statement.

"From The Sixth Sense to Split to his latest film Knock At The Cabin, he is one of the few directors of contemporary cinema whose name alone promises a bold and singular vision, a captivating original narrative and a provocative, surprising and completely unique experience in cinema. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome him to the Warner Bros. family, and look forward to an exciting collaboration with Night and the entire Blinding Edge team," said Warner Bros. executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

Rooms first and foremost

For M. Night Shyamalan, his statement suggests that he has managed to obtain, for his films, theatrical releases above all. Warner announced several releases of its blockbusters on its HBO Max streaming platform last year. A choice denounced by Christopher Nolan, but which does not seem to concern his colleague.

"We all win when films succeed in theaters. I believe David Zaslav, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have dedicated themselves to unique filmmakers and filling theaters around the world for years to come," Shyamalan said in a statement.

His next film, Trap, will be released in August 2024. More good news for M. Night Shyamalan: he has passed on his passion to his daughter, Ishana, who will unveil her first feature film The Watchers in June 2023.
