The World Association of Tennis Players Professionals has imposed a hefty fine on French player Hugo Gaston for his unsportsmanlike behavior at the Madrid Open. The league fined Hugo $144,<> for what he did in the second round of Madrid's thousand-point tournament.

This financial penalty is the highest in the history of tennis ever. Hugo's fine exceeded that of Australian Nick Kyrgios in 2019 at the Cincinnati Masters, when he was fined $113 for going to the toilet.
