In men's singles, world No. 4 Harimoto advanced to the third round with a straight set win. World No. 3 Junsuke Togami was eliminated in the second round after losing to China's Wang Chuqin by a game count of 2-1. In women's singles Hayata and Mima Ito advance to third round, where they will face Miyu Nagasaki.
