Pascal Ackermann wins the longest stage of the 106th Giro d'Italia. The former German road cycling champion won after 219 kilometers from Camaiore to Tortona.

The Spaniard Oscar Rodríguez crashed into a house wall during a descent, and Tao Geoghegan, who was third overall, also crashed and had to go to hospital. It was the first German stage victory since August of last year. A total of 15 riders have already left the Giro due to Covid infections.
