Swede Linus Ullmark was back in Boston's goal after missing the final game of the regular season against Montreal. David Pastrnak, Brad Marchan and Jake deBrusk scored for Boston.
Matthew Tkachuk became Florida's only scorer. Tuesday night will also see the first playoff games between Minnesota and Dallas and between the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton. The Boston and Florida meet again on the night of Thursday. The series will go to the next game in Florida on Friday.
