The tournament will bring together 24 teams divided into six groups. The draw for the U20 World Cup will take place on Friday at Fifa's headquarters in Zurich.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in Indonesia, but Israel's participation created strong opposition, especially from the governor of Bali. Indonesia and Israel have no diplomatic relations, and the Southeast Asian country, which has the world's largest Muslim population, is a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause. The tournament will be held from May 20 to June 11.
