IOC President Thomas Bach praised the work of sports federations, which followed the organization's recommendations on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to competitions. Head of the NOC of Finland, Jan Vapaavuori, accused Bach of a pro-Russian position.

State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev advised the Finn to engage in internal affairs, and not try to put pressure on the IOC. The IOC has not yet made any decision on the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
