Swedish Football Association chairman Fredrik Reinfeldt sees shortcomings in the current system that Swedish football should use to prevent disturbances in stadiums. Clubs can suspend individuals who have misbehaved through so-called event suspensions.

But clubs do not have access to surveillance material from the stands. The GDPR law makes it illegal for several Swedish clubs to access the material. "We are keen to protect the individual, but this goes against our goal," says Mike Sahlénius, Head of Security at IFK Göteborg.
