Hamburger SV lost 1-3 (1-0) to VfB Stuttgart in the relegation second leg. The Swabians won the first leg 3-0.

HSV needed two more goals for extra time – and conceded the cold shower early. The final point was scored by Silas with a 3-1 win (90+6) in the second half. The second division club will continue to play in the Bundesliga in the 2023/2024 season.
