A Brazilian referee stabbed a player during an amateur tournament match in the Brazilian city of Minas Gerais. The players objected to the referee's decision not to award a penalty.

The referee and his 14-year-old son fled but were later arrested by local police. The injured player was taken to the hospital, where he is still in a critical condition. The police confirmed that the knife used in the incident was hidden inside the referee’s car. The player is expected to recover from his injuries.
